On Saturday 11th June, 2016 various museums, galleries and other cultural institutions will not close but stay open into the night. For the eighth time Ostrava will participate in an international festival with its Ostrava Museum Night. From 17.00 until midnight 33 state, non-profit and private organisations, which help form the cultural life in Ostrava, will present themselves.
This year we will welcome new participants – National Heritage Institute prepares expositions, lectures about architecture and construction-historical survey of the National Heritage Institute and commented tours of the seat of the institute. An international festival of new circus and street theatre CIRKULUM will take place on Saturday. Festival will offer street art, circus artists from the whole world, workshops for children and adults and interactive Fun park. Our guest for the festival night in the Museum of Ostrava is Důl architektury from Havířov. The focus of the lectures and presentations will be Havířov railway station and its artistic decorations. The last but not the least important new participant is a music school Pop Academy. Its most talented singers will show you through a collection of music genres using their voices.

Do not let this free brilliant programme slip away and embark on an exceptional night journey to fun and adventure with us. Special bus lines will be available this year too. These will transport you for free between the participating institutions.
A grand opening will take place in front of the New Town Hall at Prokeš Square at 18.00. Together with the city mayor and representatives of organising institutions we’ll begin the festival by releasing bubbles from bubble makers, which you can collect for free at Prokeš Square.
